Business Requirements

The term Business Requirement has two general meanings. First the term is used to describe all of the requirements. For a general sense all requirements are driven by a business need, and therefore all of the requirements are business requirements.

The second way the business requirements is used to differentiate requirements that are driven by business needs versus those requirements that are driven by technological needs. These are not business requirements as the business client does not care of the technical requirements. In the systems development life cycle these are not really requirements but part of the technical architecture and design phase.
